Trail Description:
A nice 1.5 mile hike to the summit of Chief Mountain. The summit has excellent views of Mt. Evans and the Continental Divide.

Visited on Jan 18, 2011. Broke trail in 4-7 inches of new snow on top of a few feet of packed trail. Windy above the timberline for the last few hundred feet of climbing. Sunny and gorgeous.

Visited on Jan 30, 2010. Decent snow for most of the trail though the top is wind-blown enough that you do not need the snowshoes (we just left ours on the side of the trail and finished the hike up.) Amazing views on a clear blue day!
