Trail Description:
This is a simple trail that follows the outer edge of Echo Lake, at the winter trailhead for Mt. Evans Road. You can either circle 3/4 of the lake and walk along the road back to the car or come back the way you started. The full lake circuit is only 0.9 miles with almost no elevation gain.

Visited on Saturday, December 16, 2006. There was plenty of snow on the trail in trees, but the walk back along the road was completely dry. The trail was well-packed, you do not need to worry about big snowshoes on this one!
The lake was also very frozen (6-8" my guess) and we walked over the surface without any problems (plus we saw people ice fishing, so it must be solid.)
